On With Kara Swisher at Johns Hopkins University

As Experiential Programming and Talent Lead at Vox Media, I managed Vox Media’s event partnership with Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg Center. Each year, the Hopkins Bloomberg Center hosts a Discovery Series of events, featuring deep and insightful conversations on a single topic at the intersection of tech, science, and public policy. I oversaw the inaugural series, which focused on artificial intelligence and featured a four-part interview series with veteran tech reporter Kara Swisher through live tapings of her podcast, On with Kara Swisher.

The inaugural conversation for the series featured Kara Swisher interviewing OpenAI’s Mira Murati about AI, misinformation, and the 2024 elections. FKara also moderated a key panel about election disinformation that featured Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

The second conversation in the series saw Kara interview Meta’s Chief AI Scientist Yann LeCun about critical subjects like AI regulation, open-source research, and the future trajectory of AI development and the risks involved.
